Sensitive Data 47.0227 N 28.8353 E

Muzeul Național de Artă al Moldovei

08.08.2024 - 01.09.2024

10:00 - 18:00

Sensitive Data 47.0227 N 28.8353 E explores the emotional connection between the city and its inhabitants through the artistic interpretation of information and data on essential urban themes. Six digital and new media art installations create a multisensory experience that engages all the primary senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—to establish an emotional channel between information and public perception.

The exhibition is produced by 𝐨𝐟𝐧𝐨𝐰, a collaborative platform based in Bucharest that creates multimedia, audiovisual, and immersive works, as well as sound and light installations, generative art, and other forms of expression reflecting human interaction with the present. The works are based on data about air quality, mobility, housing, sound, and food sources. The installations create a dialogue between the visitor and the city as a living, collective entity with which we have a continuous and personal exchange of information.

The installations were created by artists Dorin Cucicov, Bogdan Ștefănescu, and Alina Rizescu in collaboration with Dr. Andrei Perciun, Nistor Felicia, Postolachi Bogdan, Corolevschi Valeria, Galesco Adrian, Ciubotaru Ion, and Pagînu Vadim. This collaboration was part of a data collection and interpretation lab in which students from Moldova State University (USM) in the Multimedia Production and Communication and Public Relations programs, coordinated by Andrei Perciun, PhD and Head of the Department of Communication and Information Theory at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, USM, worked for two months through online and offline sessions.

The exhibition opening will take place on August 8 at 16:00. The exhibition can be visited until September 1, from Tuesday to Sunday, during the visiting hours of the National Museum of Art of Moldova, 10:00-18:00.
